Regarding the worsening body image due to Social Media, the goal of the app is to playfully improve the self-esteem, body image and social media habits of young adults. Based on comprehensive research, a fictional App concept and prototype was created as Graduation Project in Interaction Design and Illustration.
PROBLEM
Studies show: Social Media is causing body image to worsen. The ideal of beauty often reproduced in the media is internalized and seen as the own ideal. The consequences are increased self-objectification, discrimination against overweight people, self-harming behavior, and the normalization of extreme content.
So – how might me sensitise young people to the issue and motivate them to take action on their social media habits?

SOLUTION
Research showed: the key aspects to improve a bad body image are media literacy and a strong self-esteem.
